SSEBUWUFU
William Edward
Kamirante SSEgumba
Sir Ssebuwufu was born in the Mukono rural center of Kisoga and was fortunate enough to be raised by his brother James S. Musajjawaza after their dear parents passed on to the next life. He went to Mpumu, Ndeeba and St. Ann’s Preparatory for his
Primary School; then it was off to Busoga College Mwiri and Noah’s Ark for Senior Secondary - finally ending up in journalism before his Project Planning+ Management diploma at Makerere University. He, thereafter, attained a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from Makerere.
The years spent in both rural and urban communities in different parts of Uganda seem to have prepared him to his current vocation. He loves the culture - and can speak with the essence of a glibal Ugandan citizen. These are fully on display when he presents ‘Tuula Tunyumye’ on Radio Uganda Boston.
Ssebuwufu worked in various media institutions as a free lance journalist and was guided by outstanding Ugandan professionals like Paul Waibale Sr [RIP] and Owek. Grace Ssemakula Ndugwa. He also worked in project management roles with local community
projects - delving into teaching the PM course at institutions of higher learning in Uganda.
His love for culture and of course, grasp of the issues gave him the chance to dabble into spokesperson - for - introduction - ceremony roles.
He moved to USA in 2009; and while he is on radio, there is no doubt that passion and ambition will, in conjunction with his colleagues at Radio Uganda Boston, allow the station to reach what may, today, seem like insurmountable heights.
